OK so today is the lovely, talented and Charming ASM's virtual cookie exchange.
I will share with you today...the most amazing cookie recipe ever! People will beg you to make these and ask for the recipe!
I got this recipe from Christmas with SouthernLiving 1997 so yes, its been around for a while!
Heavenly Chocolate Chunk Cookies
2 cups plus 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine
2 Tablespoons instant coffee granules
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg yolk
1 large egg
1 pkg semisweet chocolate mega (or any size you like) morsels
1 cup walnuts halves (or pecans)
Combine first 3 ingredients; stir well.
Combine butter and coffee granules in a small saucepan or skillet. cook over med-low heat until butter melts and coffee is dissolved stirring occasionally. remove from heat and let cool to room temp, but don't let butter harden.
Combine Butter mixture, sugar, egg and egg yolk in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until blended. gradually add flour mixture beating at low speed just until blended. stir in morsels and nuts.
drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. bake at 325 for 12-14 minutes. let cool slightly on pan and remove to wire rack to cool completely.
yield 20 cookies.
ok, i make mine "regular" sized and always get about 3 dozen. trust me...these are good!

Heh, I believe my mom has that recipe from that magazine. She has dozens of Southern Living magazines she keeps around just for recipes and new ideas, lol. :)

Those look wonderful. Thanks for playing too. I love the recipes in Southern Living. I have yet to find a bad one in there.
I am drooling as we speak!
Added to the list of things to try...
Oh lord, this holiday season is going to be a doozey!
I love those old recipes that have things like "2 cups plus 2 tbsp". Old cookbooks often have the best ones too, don't you find? I will have to write this one down for sure.
